Time Warp #4

DC's sci-fi anthology Time Warp reaches its fourth issue with a cover by Mike Kaluta that sets an genuinely unsettling tone: a gaunt, yellow-robed figure raises a staff or horn aloft against a star-filled void while two snarling red demons claw at him from a swirling purple cloud below. Subtitled "Doomsday Tales and Other Things," this 1980 dollar comic promises a collection of eerie science fiction shorts, including "Pen Pal" with interior art by Fred Carrillo. The roster of contributors — Steve Ditko, Michael Kaluta, Jerry Grandenetti, and more — makes this a fine showcase of late-Bronze-Age SF comics craft.
