Tim Holt pursues the outlaw horse thief Stu Jonnard after a brief confrontation in which Lightning, a prized bronze sorrel stallion, is stolen and pursued through rough badlands terrain. When Tim catches up to the fleeing criminal near a rocky outcrop, a gunfight ensues, resulting in Jonnard's death. The story follows Tim's determined chase across treacherous landscape to recover the valuable horse and stop the thief.
