Tim Holt and his companions encounter an earthquake while climbing Ghost Mountain in search of a treasure cave. After surviving the quake and narrowly escaping being buried alive, Tim and his friends discover the lost treasure train of the Spanish Conquistador Coronado. Later, Tim encounters a federal marshal fleeing from outlaws and pursues them on horseback to an abandoned saloon in a ghost town, where he confronts a mysterious specter. Meanwhile, Pop Gentry recounts a tale of sky riders to Tim, and afterward Tim finds himself embroiled in a confrontation over money with dazed prospectors, leading to a violent fight in which his companion Chito must help him escape.
