ThunderCats The Powerpuff Girls #3
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIssue #3 is the narrative midpoint of the first-ever comic-book crossover between the ThunderCats and The Powerpuff Girls — two Warner Bros./Cartoon Network animated franchises that had never shared a story medium before this 2025 Dynamite miniseries. The issue marks the comic-page debut of the Lunateks in this crossover continuity, bringing obscure ThunderCats cartoon antagonists into contact with the Powerpuff Girls for the first time in any medium. It also deepens the series' central storytelling conceit — Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup operating without their Chemical X–granted powers on Third Earth — by pairing them with a newly liberated Cheetara as the group ventures into the treacherous Crystal Canyon. As part of a broader Dynamite initiative to revive classic Warner Bros. animated properties in comics form, the miniseries as a whole represents a meaningful moment of cross-generational nostalgia publishing, and issue #3 is where that experiment shifts from setup to accelerating consequence.

The crossover concept originated with Dynamite editor Nate Cosby (referred to in creator interviews as 'Nate'), who developed the initial pitch and brought in writer Paulina Ganucheau — already established at Dynamite as the artist on the Powerpuff Girls solo series — to script the full miniseries. Ganucheau in turn brought in her longtime friend and collaborator Coleman Engle as artist, a pairing the two have described as feeling like a natural creative friendship. The series was first announced via a Free Comic Book Day 2025 zero issue (FCBD #0, distributed April/May 2025), which served as a preview of the story's premise; the main series proper launched in July 2025 after suffering at least two distribution-related release date delays from its originally solicited June 4, 2025 street date. Issue #3 shipped September 3, 2025.
