ThunderCats: Lost launched in March 2025 as a sister series to Declan Shalvey's main ThunderCats title, written by Ed Brisson and drawn by Rapha Lobosco — the same creative team that had collaborated on the ThunderCats: Apex one-shot, which itself was designed to set the table for a new chapter in the Dynamite ThunderCats universe. The series was developed in close coordination with editor Nate Cosby and published under a licensing arrangement between Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. Brisson conceived the book as a deliberately darker, war-story counterpoint to the main title — something he compared in tone to DC's Suicide Squad — centered on second-tier cartoon characters Bengali, Pumyra, and Lynx-O alongside two newly created warriors, Neko and Ligon, whose origins and roles in the wider Thunderian mythology were reimagined for this continuity. The series ran for exactly ten issues, with the finale solicited for December 31, 2025 and released January 7, 2026.
