ThunderCats Lost #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThunderCats: Lost #1 marks the debut of two wholly original Thunderian characters — Neko, a fierce snow leopard warrior, and Ligon, a towering liger — the first brand-new cat characters introduced into Dynamite's expanding ThunderCats universe beyond the established animated series roster. The issue also reinvents the origins of Bengali, Pumyra, and Lynx-O, three heroes who were largely overlooked in prior comics adaptations, finally spotlighting the franchise's second-season characters in their own starring vehicle. As a deliberate tonal counterpoint to the flagship ThunderCats title, Lost inaugurated a darker, war-comic register for the line — a narrative mode the publisher described as comparable in spirit to an ensemble-of-expendables story — broadening what the ThunderCats franchise could be in comics form. The series functions as a load-bearing piece of Dynamite's shared-universe architecture, directly feeding into the later ThunderCats X SilverHawks crossover event.

ThunderCats: Lost was announced in December 2024 as a companion series to Dynamite's flagship ThunderCats title, itself launched in early 2024 off the momentum of a breakout debut. Writer Ed Brisson and artist Rapha Lobosco were reunited for the project after their collaboration on the ThunderCats: Apex one-shot, which had already established Brisson's voice within the Dynamite ThunderCats universe. The issue was originally solicited for a March 5, 2025 on-sale date before being shifted to March 19, 2025. Lobosco handled character design duties for the newly created Neko and Ligon, working through multiple design iterations before the characters reached their final published forms.

- Brisson and Lobosco previously collaborated on the ThunderCats: Apex one-shot (December 2024), which introduced the character Apex and established the creative team's foothold in the Dynamite ThunderCats line before Lost launched.
- The original planned on-sale date of March 5, 2025 was shifted to March 19, 2025 before release.
