“The Price of Pride”

Lion-O charges into action on this 1987 Star Comics/Marvel entry, sword raised and expression fierce, as he squares off against a massive stone-gray giant wielding a club — while a startled cat-like creature looks on anxiously from above. The cover's bold headline — "Lion-O's Gone Mad!" — sets a dramatic, urgent tone that perfectly complements the kinetic artwork by Tom Morgan and Joe Sinnott. Inside, Gerry Conway pens "The Price of Pride," promising a story as charged as the confrontation playing out right on the cover.
