Lion-O bursts through a torrent of water on the cover of this February 1987 Star Comics entry, his red mane flying and expression fierce as dark armored figures lurk in the shadows on either side — and the cover copy makes the stakes clear: "Keep those doors shut, Lion-O — or it's curtains for the ThunderCats!" Cover art by José Marzán Jr., John Romita, and inker Tom Palmer gives the scene real kinetic energy, with water spraying in all directions around the charging lord of the ThunderCats. Inside, writer Gerry Conway and artist José Delbo carry that tension forward in "To the Victor, the Spoils," making this a solid pick for fans of the beloved animated series.
