“The Queen of Eight Legs”

Issue sixteen of Marvel's Star Comics run drops Lion-O and Snarf into a genuinely harrowing situation — the cover by José Delbo and Bob McLeod shows them ensnared in an enormous web, face-to-face with a massive, snarling beast looming from above. Lion-O slashes back defiantly with the Sword of Omens, sparks flying on impact, while a helpless Snarf tumbles trapped in the webbing below. Paired with the story title "The Queen of Eight Legs," this 1987 issue promises the kind of creepy, high-stakes ThunderCats adventure that made the Star Comics line such a treat for fans of the animated series.
