This "Road Trip" chapter of Thunderbolts captures the team at their most amusingly human — Red Hulk clutching a water bottle roadside, the Punisher and Elektra arguing over a map, a sulking figure slumped against the van's tire, and Deadpool doing absolutely everything wrong at once, from hitching a joyride on the roof to flying a Deadpool-faced kite on the horizon. Julian Totino Tedesco's painterly cover gives this 2014 Marvel series a warm, sun-baked desert atmosphere that feels more road-trip comedy than super-team thriller — and that's entirely the point. Charles Soule's "On the Road" promises a refreshingly offbeat installment for fans of this unlikely crew.
