Thunderbolts #17
Deadpool reclines at a diner table with the casual ease of someone who hasn't a care in the world — mask slightly askew, apparently snacking — while a full-blown brawl erupts in the background involving what appears to be the rest of the Thunderbolts roster, rendered in a warm, painterly wash by cover artist Julian Totino Tedesco. The contrast between Deadpool's breezy indifference and the chaos swirling behind him captures exactly the kind of dark humor that makes this team so entertaining. Tied into Marvel's 2013 Infinity crossover event, this issue from writer Charles Soule and artist Jefte Palo promises plenty of mayhem beneath that wonderfully deadpan cover.
