Thunderbolts #14
Marvel's villains-turned-heroes remain Marvel's Most Wanted in this May 1998 installment of Thunderbolts. Mark Bagley and Scott Hanna's cover thrusts armored Mach-1 into an uncomfortably close encounter with a green-skinned, red-caped figure's outstretched hand, while a fierce, golden-haired woman looms behind him demanding — via a bold speech bubble — "Kill him!" The title "Casualties of War!" promises the kind of sharp tension that Kurt Busiek consistently brought to this unlikely team, making issue #14 a compelling chapter in one of 1998's most intriguing Marvel series.
