Dec 2016 · Marvel · 17.99 USD; 23.99 CAD
“There Is No High Road: Part One - Power and Control”

Thunderbolts #1 (2016) kicks off with a sharp, morally complex team-up as the Winter Soldier leads a new roster of reformed villains and antiheroes through Nick Fury’s most troubling files. In "There Is No High Road: Part One - Power and Control," tensions rise fast when Moonstone and the Winter Soldier clash over command—until Kobik’s literal interpretation of a challenge turns the situation explosive. Written by Jim Zub and illustrated by Jon Malin, with colors by Matt Yackey and letters by Joe Sabino, the issue’s cover by Jon Malin captures the moment of fracture in bold, grounded detail.

The Winter Soldier's Thunderbolts begin cleaning up problems they find in Nick Fury's files. While investigating what seems to be Terrigen coccoons, Moonstone and Winter Soldier get into an argument about leadership. When Moonstone challenges anyone who wants to lead to take the moonstone from her, Kobik interprets the challenge literally and rips it out of her chest.
