“There Is No High Road: Part One - Power and Control”

Thunderbolts #1 (2016) kicks off with a tense, morally ambiguous mission as the Winter Soldier leads a team of reformed antiheroes through files left by Nick Fury. In "There Is No High Road: Part One - Power and Control," conflicting agendas flare when Moonstone and the Winter Soldier clash over leadership, leading to a shocking moment when Kobik takes matters—literally—into her own hands. Written by Jim Zub and illustrated by Jon Malin, with colors by Matt Yackey and letters by Joe Sabino and Virtual Calligraphy, the issue's cover by Jon Malin captures the team’s uneasy dynamic from the start.
