Issue twelve of Image's Throwaways closes out its run with a cover that means business: a battle-scarred, blonde operative stares the viewer down, cigarette in his lips, assault rifle in one hand and a lighter in the other, while two redacted dossier sheets — one of them stamped in red — are pinned to the concrete wall behind him. It's a quietly intense image that captures the series' espionage-thriller tone perfectly, the kind of operative who's been burned by the system and has nothing left to lose.
