Against a brooding, storm-grey sky, a lone dark-haired warrior — Thorgal himself — stands arms outstretched as a great swirl of white birds (seagulls and larger raptors among them) wheel and dive around him in an almost mystical communion, with rugged cliffs looming in the background. This 2019 Dutch-language volume from Le Lombard, "De kluizenaar van Skellingar" (The Hermit of Skellingar), is written by Yann and drawn by Frédéric Vignaux, while the striking cover is the work of series stalwart Grzegorz Rosiński. A beautifully atmospheric entry in the long-running Thorgal saga, with Rosiński's cover art alone making it a treat for the eyes.
