Thorgal #11
The eleventh volume in the beloved Belgian series brings Thorgal face to face with something deeply unsettling — Rosiński's cover art dominates with a massive, luminous pair of piercing blue eyes emerging from a swirling mass of tormented, shadowy faces crowded together in darkness, while a pale, ghost-like figure hovers at the center. The title "De ogen van Tanatloc" ("The Eyes of Tanatloc") promises a story steeped in mystery and ancient dread, and Rosiński's atmospheric painted cover makes that threat feel genuinely eerie. Van Hamme and Rosiński were clearly at the height of their collaborative energy in 1986, and this installment looks like one of the series' more haunting chapters.
