Thor Visionaries: Walter Simonson #5
In "Shadows of the Past," Thor's body lies broken after a brutal clash with the cursed Hela, and the Storm Giants reduce him to dust—only for Asgard to fall into a mysterious slumber. With the realm paralyzed, the Storm Giants unwittingly awaken the ancient Destroyer, and when Thor returns to fight, he is consumed by the very armor he sought to destroy. A gripping chapter in Walter Simonson’s visionary run, illustrated with bold precision by Sal Buscema and brought to life with striking colors by Christie Scheele, this issue blends mythic weight and visceral action, with cover art by Simonson himself.
