“The Prisoner -- the Power -- and -- Dr. Doom!”

In "The Prisoner — the Power — and — Dr. Doom!", Thor answers Odin’s call from Asgard to confront a growing threat on Midgard: Doctor Doom’s hidden missile silos in Latveria. When Doom captures Dr. Blake and demands he fix his ruined face, Thor’s dual identity is tested—both as a god and a man. With the fate of Earth hanging in the balance, the God of Thunder must escape captivity, outwit Doom’s defenses, and stand against the tyrant’s power. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by John Buscema with inks by Joe Sinnott, this pivotal issue features a striking cover by Buscema and Sinnott.

Dr. Blake discovers that Doctor Doom has been building sophisticated missile silos in Latveria and decides to remove their threat. However, as Thor, he is summoned to Asgard by Odin. Odin gives him permission to return to Midgard to carry out his mission. Meanwhile, coincidentally, Doom reads a newspaper article about Dr. Blake who, it seems, is now an expert in plastic surgery. Doom kidnaps Blake and orders him to fix his face. Doom removes his mask. Blake recoils - - he cannot repair Doom’s face. Blake is imprisoned, changes into Thor, escapes, evades a missile, and resolves to battle Doom.
