☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe main feature follows Wild Bill Pecos as he battles Chief Angry Son and his scalp-hungry injuns using his six-guns and quick wits. A secondary story depicts Sheriff Jim Taylor investigating a killing at the Gold Calf saloon, where he confronts Steve Hill over the death of Jeff Parker and ultimately uncovers the true killer through a clever trap. The issue also includes advertisements and mail-order offers interspersed throughout, typical of Golden Age comic book back matter.
When Chief Angry Sun leads his warriors on the warpath against the frontier towns, Wild Bill Pecos uncovers a dangerous conspiracy: someone is supplying the Indians with rifles and ammunition. Pursuing the mystery from a burning supply wagon to a suspicious lumber mill, Bill battles against a renegade operation that threatens to spark a full-scale war unless he can cut off the source of the guns.
When Nuggets Nugent stumbles upon a forced wedding in the desert, he discovers that the villain Yancy Bates is coercing a young woman named Kate Henshaw to marry him—all to claim her father's mine. Nuggets springs into action with a wild disguise, crashing the ceremony to save her from Bates's scheme. What unfolds is a riotous showdown that proves why this particular cowpoke is emphatically not the marrying kind.
Wild Bill Pecos and his saddle pard Nuggets Nugent are hot on the trail of the notorious outlaw Owlhoot Orton, desperate for the reward money—but their hunt takes an unexpected turn when three retired sheriffs at Resthaven Ranch insist on joining the chase to prove they've still got fight left in them. As Wild Bill tries to track down his quarry, he's forced to wrangle the well-meaning but bumbling old-timers, who keep getting in the way and creating chaos at every turn.
Wild Bill Pecos and his partner Nuggets Nugent ride into Stony Gulch offering their guns to Sheriff Otis Stoker, who's been dogged by rumors of working with the local bandits—but the sheriff has darker plans than either gunslinger suspects. When Stoker sends them to scout Death Gulch on what appears to be a routine patrol, they find themselves trapped and hunted by the deadly Pancho, only to discover the sheriff himself has engineered the whole deadly game. In Death Gulch, where ropes are cut and enemies strike from the shadows, Pecos and his partner must navigate a vicious three-way hunt where trust is a luxury they can't afford.
