This fully colorized deluxe edition presents a genuinely unsettling cover by David Finch — a gaunt, decomposing walker shuffles forward with its back to us, its exposed spine and ravaged flesh rendered in grim detail, while a dense horde presses against a chain-link fence in the misty background and a disembodied arm hangs ominously from the upper corner. Dave McCaig's coloring gives the scene a murky, oppressive atmosphere that feels both gritty and cinematic. Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's post-apocalyptic world has rarely looked so viscerally alive — or dead.
