Part of IDW's "All Hail Optimus" arc, this 2016 installment puts the tension front and center with a dramatically low-angle cover: a massive shadowed hand reaches toward a group of Cybertronians looming against a deep blue, star-flecked sky, their angular frames rendered in cool, moody tones by the creative team of Barber, Griffith, and Burcham. The composition is deliberately unsettling — those towering robotic figures feel both powerful and vulnerable depending on whose hand that is.
