The Spider #14
Dynamite's The Spider #14 brings a striking duality to life through cover artist Colton Worley's moody composition: the cloaked, hat-shadowed figure of the Spider looms large at the top, his dark silhouette framing a nighttime New York skyline anchored by the glowing Chrysler Building, while below — mirrored and bathed in burning red light — the face of his civilian alter ego stares back, a glowing spider sigil overlaid across his chest. The inversion of hero and man, darkness and crimson, makes for one of the more visually arresting covers in this Dynamite run. With David Liss writing and Ivan Rodriguez on interior art, this 2013 series continues to give the pulp vigilante classic a genuinely compelling modern treatment.
