Part of DC's 1995 Underworld Unleashed crossover event, this issue of The Spectre features a cover by Tom Mandrake that crackles with supernatural menace — the white-cloaked Spectre surges forward amid swirling green energy, skull-faced wraiths trailing in his wake, while a massive, dark demonic visage looms ominously overhead. A red-haired figure caught in the spectral vortex adds a striking human element to the chaos. John Ostrander and Mandrake were consistently doing some of the most compelling supernatural work at DC in this era, and "Evil Intent" promises exactly the kind of cosmic dread this creative team did so well.
