Black Cat takes center stage on this striking 1984 cover, her flowing white hair and black costume sweeping dramatically across a nighttime Manhattan skyline as she leaps in urgent pursuit. Surrounding her — almost haunting her — are repeated ghost-images of Spider-Man clinging to the city's shadowed walls, and the cover copy drives the tension home: she's searching for Spidey, and what she finds could spell the end of his career.
