The Spectacular Spider-Man #4
High above a snow-swept Manhattan, Spider-Man grapples mid-air with the Vulture while a terrified red-haired woman clings desperately to a ledge below — Dave Cockrum and Frank Giacoia deliver a cover that crackles with vertigo and urgency. The story title says it all: "The Vulture Is a Bird of Prey!" promises a clash with one of Spider-Man's most relentless foes, and the swirling snow and dizzying cityscape only heighten the sense of danger. With Archie Goodwin writing and Sal Buscema on interior art, this 1977 issue is a fine example of Marvel's web-slinger at his street-level best.
