The Silencer #10

Part three of "Hell-iday Road" arrives with one of the more unsettling covers of 2018: a wild-eyed, snarling woman — splattered with toxic green liquid — lunges forward while a child's face stares up from a roiling pool of that same sickly luminescence below her. The mirrored composition, penciled by Viktor Bogdanović and inked by Jonathan Glapion, turns a mother-and-child image into something genuinely disturbing, all sharp teeth and glowing eyes against an otherwise desaturated palette. DC's New Age of Heroes series continues to push its protagonist into increasingly dark territory, and this cover makes clear that whatever threat Honor Blake is facing, it hits very close to home.
