The Shadow Strikes #29

The final issue of DC's The Shadow Strikes sends the pulp crimefighter out in dramatic fashion — the cover by Joe Quesada and Michael Bair puts the Shadow front and center, black cape billowing and pistol in hand as he dives away from a massive, spinning aircraft turbine amid a storm of fire and debris. It's a kinetic, almost overwhelmingly energetic image that captures everything compelling about this version of the character. Dan Spiegle handles interior art for the story "Valhalla," making this a fitting close to the series from the creative team that carried it through its run.
