The Shadow #2

Part two of "Shadows and Light" arrives in September 1987 with a cover by Bill Sienkiewicz that crackles with urgency — the Shadow, masked and cloaked in black, cradles a bloodied figure while a streak of fire explodes through the darkness behind them. The painterly intensity Sienkiewicz brings to the scene perfectly captures the gritty, mature tone Andy Helfer is steering this series toward. DC's suggested-for-mature-readers label is well earned here, and this second chapter promises the kind of moody, visceral storytelling that sets this run apart.
