The Shadow #12

The penultimate chapter of "The Seven Deadly Finns" arrives in this mature-readers DC title from 1988, and Kyle Baker's cover makes an immediate impression — the Shadow's face emerges from swirling dark folds of cloth, half-obscured and brooding, while a pistol juts forward into the foreground with quiet menace. It's a portrait of controlled threat, all atmosphere and shadow, perfectly suited to Andrew Helfer and Baker's noir sensibility. If you've been following this arc, Part 5 is not the issue to skip.
