The Sentry #3
The third chapter of Marvel Knights' ambitious 2000 series presents a striking Jae Lee cover that layers three figures into an ominous, teal-shadowed composition: a determined blond Sentry stands in the foreground in his silver-and-blue costume, a monstrous stone-faced creature looms behind him, and Spider-Man crouches at the apex in a watchful, predatory pose. The stacked arrangement has a brooding, almost monumental quality — exactly the kind of cover that makes you want to know what "The Photograph" has in store. Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee continue their collaboration on what was shaping up to be one of the more thoughtfully crafted superhero stories Marvel had to offer in 2000.
