Siegfried sets forth for new adventures and eventually meets up with Hagen, Gunther and Gutruné. Gutruné drugs Siegfried and he forgets Brunhildé. He falls in love with Gutruné and to prove his love, he decides to win a wife for her brother, Gunther. Gunther tells him about Brunhildé and Siegfried, disguised as Gunther overpowers Brunhildé.
