This issue contains two stories. "Canyon Ambush" features Tex Granger confronting criminals over a stolen mail truck, with Uncle Hiram telling a bedtime story about how a horse with a hole in its saddle led him to track down the thieves by following bean plants they had scattered. The second story involves a masquerade party where a clown character named Egbert attempts a burglary but is thwarted when caught in the act, ending with his pie-based trap backfiring literally as he is hit by a "splat."
