About this Collection

This third volume in the Rainbow Orchid series continues the globe-trotting adventures of Julius Chancer, as he pursues the legendary Rainbow Orchid. The story deepens the mystery and peril, drawing on a rich vein of 1920s-style adventure and historical intrigue. Created by Garen Ewing, this collection brings together the next chapter of the serialized tale in a single, beautifully presented edition.

In The Rainbow Orchid #3, Julius and Meru arrive in the hidden Himalayan realm of Urvatja, where they confront the last rainbow orchid—its beauty matched only by its peril. With Evelyn Crow’s unexpected revelation about a forged black orchid, the truth behind Grope’s scheme begins to unravel, leading to a daring escape and a triumphant return to London. Written and illustrated by Garen Ewing, this issue blends wonder and suspense in a story where the real treasure is not what’s found, but what’s revealed.

Julius, Meru and their party reach the hidden Himalaya land of Urvatja, pursued by Evelyn Crow. There they are shown the rainbow orchid, but since it is the last of its kind, they reluctantly conclude they cannot take it. But Crow, in exchange for being rescued from lava, reveals how Grope has faked the black orchid with which he plans to swindle Lord Lawrence. She escapes, while the others return to London in the marvelous Urvatjan flying vehicle. They expose the fraud, save Lord Lawrence, and free Grope's prisoners, but Grope manages to avoid prosecution by framing others.
