Issue #32 of The Power of Shazam! arrives in November 1997 with a cover by Jerry Ordway that puts the World's Mightiest Mortal in immediate peril — Captain Marvel and a companion in white and gold robes are sent reeling through a rocky chasm by a massive green aircraft bearing down on them from above. The story is titled "Windshear," and that swooping, armored craft makes the threat feel very literal. With Ordway writing and Krause and Giordano handling interiors, this creative team was consistently delivering some of the strongest superhero storytelling DC had to offer at the time.
