The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor #16

From Gold Key's supernatural adventure series, this 1975 issue pairs occult investigator Dr. Spektor alongside a bare-chested barbarian warrior — both of them squaring off against a towering, decaying stone-skinned giant looming over rocky terrain amid crackling lightning. The cover blurb promises "Dr. Spektor and a Legendary Barbarian vs. the Horrors of Death's-Head Island," and Jesse Santos's painted artwork delivers on that premise with moody, storm-charged atmosphere — Spektor brandishing a flaming torch while his companion thrusts a sword toward the monstrous figure above. Written by Don Glut and fully illustrated by Santos, it's a fine example of Gold Key's atmospheric horror-adventure comics at their mid-seventies best.
