Olive has died, staggering the girls and the street community alike. Olive's brother and Merissa encounter each other, hinting at a possible friendship. Lona turns her back on her obsession with Mr. Adams. Ren feels awkward and unwelcome in her boy friend's circle of older people. Leaving the girls a note, she flies back home to California. Riley and Angie jointly dismiss James with a rude phone message, piling his things onto the curb. With him no longer taking up space, the sisters make plans to share Angie's apartment. Freshman year is drawing to a close.
