The New Warriors #33

The cover of The New Warriors #33 says it all — teammates turned opponents, as a dramatically rendered black-and-white Namorita goes face-to-face with a full-color Nova in what looks like a fierce, close-quarters clash. Penciler Darick Robertson and inker Larry Mahlstedt make striking use of the split light-and-shadow design, reinforcing the "Forces of Darkness, Forces of Light" theme of this second act. It's a visually arresting 1993 Marvel entry that puts two fan-favorite Warriors at each other's throats and makes it very hard to put back on the shelf.
