The New Titans #129

Part of the "Seduction of Evil" crossover and kicking off the "Meltdown" arc, this 1996 DC issue puts the New Titans in serious jeopardy — the cover by William Rosado and Will Blyberg depicts four team members scattered and reeling against a looming, shadowy dark figure that dominates the composition with an unmistakable air of menace. Marv Wolfman helms the story as the Titans face what looks like an overwhelming threat bearing down on them from all sides. It's a striking visual promise of the tension waiting inside.
