A Smallville secret hangs by a thread on Kurt Schaffenberger and Dave Hunt's cover, where a wide-eyed Superboy reacts with alarm to a town billboard proudly proclaiming both "Superboy" and "Clark Kent" as hometown heroes — with the caped Boy of Steel himself perched atop the sign and an enthusiastic crowd gathered below. The thought bubbles tell the whole anxious story: performing a super-feat as Clark Kent may force him to abandon Smallville and start over with a new identity entirely.
