Issue #84 marks the finale of Marvel's long-running Vietnam War series, and the cover — by Alberto Saichann — drives that home with a chaotic, close-quarters firefight set against a sky erupting in orange flame, a helicopter banking through the smoke above. Armed combatants clash in desperate struggle across the foreground, the bold declaration "THE END" leaving no doubt this is the series' closing chapter. It's a fittingly intense send-off for one of Marvel's most grounded and earnest explorations of the Vietnam experience.
