“Tet: The Beginning of the End, Part I: Grassroots”

Marvel's long-running Vietnam War series heads into a pivotal three-part arc with this April 1993 issue, subtitled "The Beginning of the End." Michael Golden's cover — both penciled and inked by him — pulls you right into the jungle tension: three soldiers move urgently through dense tropical foliage, one wide-eyed figure crawling at the foreground while armed combatants flank him against a striking red-and-green backdrop, with a shadowy rifleman silhouetted in the upper corner. The POW·MIA emblem anchoring the bottom left is a quiet but pointed reminder of the human cost that has always given The 'Nam its distinctive weight.
