Three of Marvel's finest frontier heroes — the Rawhide Kid, Matt Slade, and the Two-Gun Kid — share the spotlight in this July 1973 anthology from The Mighty Marvel Western. Jack Kirby's cover pencils (inked by Dick Ayers) place the Rawhide Kid at the edge of a rocky mesa, guns drawn as a gang of armed pursuers closes in from behind, with the bold caption asking whether he can escape "The Bounty Hunter's Trap!" It's a tense, wide-open-sky standoff that captures exactly what made Marvel's western line such a reliable thrill at twenty cents a copy.
