The Mice Templar #3

The third chapter of Bryan J. L. Glass and Michael Avon Oeming's dark fantasy epic brings a genuinely unsettling image to the fore: a gaunt, striped rat-like creature crouches atop a gnarled, vine-covered rock formation, dangling a glowing skull-faced medallion against a blood-red and violet sky fractured by bare, skeletal branches. Wil Quintana's watercolor-tinged palette gives the whole scene an eerie, almost feverish atmosphere that suits "The Prophecy Part 3: Black Aniaus" perfectly. If you've been following this 2008 Image series, this cover alone makes clear the story is venturing somewhere genuinely ominous.
