The Manhattan Projects #23
Jonathan Hickman's cover design for issue #23 says everything with elegant restraint: two superpower symbols — the Soviet hammer-and-sickle alongside the stars and stripes of the American flag — merged into a single stark grey-and-white field, a visual shorthand for the Cold War tension that drives this arc. The minimalist "MP" medallion at the center keeps the branding sharp and purposeful, letting the geopolitical imagery do the heavy lifting. If you've been following Hickman and Pitarra's alternate-history series through 2014, this "Cold War" chapter looks like exactly the kind of charged, ideas-first storytelling the book does so well.
