“Man of Steel Part 1”

"Man of Steel Part 1" launches Brian Michael Bendis’s bold new take on Superman, with Ivan Reis and Jay Fabok’s dynamic art bringing a fresh, grounded intensity to the Man of Steel’s world. As Superman balances his duties as a hero in Metropolis—taking down Firefly and Killer Moth, investigating a mysterious fire, and filing stories as Clark Kent—he’s also haunted by the absence of Lois and Jon, while echoes of Krypton’s past resurface through the enigmatic Rogol Zaar and the Circle’s long-ago decision. The cover by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado captures the weight of that legacy in a single, striking image.

Many years ago, Rogol Zaar warns members of the Circle of the threat that Krypton poses to the universe, and pleads for permission to wipe out all Kryptonians. Appa Ali Apsa later notifies Zaar that the Circle decided against such action. Meanwhile Superman is busy capturing Firefly and Killer Moth, investigating a suspicious building fire, and returning to the Planet as Clark to write up the stories. But he is haunted by a memory of Lois and Jon, whose whereabouts are unknown.
