The narrative follows Mina Harker, Allan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyll, and the Invisible Man as they are assembled by Campion Bond to thwart a threat to the British Empire. Originally published by DC's America's Best Comics imprint, this volume collects the initial six-issue miniseries that launched the franchise.
In "2: Ghosts & Miracles," Miss Murray, Allan Quatermain, and Nemo pursue a dangerous trail of supernatural threats, leading them to Miss Coote's Academy for Wayward Gentlewomen. There, they confront Hawler Griffin, the elusive invisible man, in a tense showdown that tests their resolve and reveals deeper mysteries beneath the surface of the Academy's quiet façade.
In "3: Mysteries of the East," Miss Murray and Hawley Griffin seek answers from Quong Lee, who cryptically warns of a dragon sleeping beneath the waters beneath a heavenly bridge. Guided by his riddle, Miss Murray and Allan Quatermain venture into a hidden chunnel, uncovering a breathtaking airship that defies all known science. Meanwhile, Allan Quatermain and Dr. Jekyll search for Ho Ling, only to find the Doctor himself in a place where past and present blur.
In "4: Gods of Annihilation," Allan Quatermain races against time to secure the cavorite while Hyde draws fire from the Doctor's guards, setting off a desperate escape through a glass-lined tunnel. With the Thames above them, Mina activates the device, pulling them to safety as the underground threat closes in. Back on dry land, the recovered cavorite is handed over to James Moriarty, the enigmatic head of MI5, setting the stage for a larger, unseen conflict.
In "5: 'Some Deep, Organizing Power...'", Hawley Griffin races against time to uncover Moriarty’s dangerous plan—using cavorite to fuel a deadly airship aimed at destroying the Doctor, Limehouse, and the Nautilus. With the fate of the League hanging in the balance, Griffin must confront the twisted genius behind the scheme before it’s too late.
In "6: The Day of Be-With-Us," the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen takes to the skies in the airship Victoria as Moriarty's bombardment of Limehouse escalates. With Nemo and Mr. Hyde battling enemy forces from the deck and Miss Murray alongside Quatermain working to disable the ship’s cavorite, the air above London becomes a battleground of kites, balloons, and desperate courage. As the conflict reaches its peak, Mycroft Holmes formally enlists the League—only for the sky to erupt in fire.
