The Kilroys #51
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIn "Go West --- Young Man!", Zoot’s usual antics take a turn when he mocks Cookie over doing dishes, only to realize he’s left his wallet behind. Forced to trade labor for a soda, he ends up scrubbing dishes himself—proving even the smoothest schemer can’t skip the chores. Written and drawn by Dan Gordon, this 1954 slice of humor from the American Comics Group delivers a lighthearted, character-driven moment with a touch of classic slapstick charm.
Solid Jackson heads west with his pal to strike it rich hunting uranium in the Rockies, but his irrepressible flirtation and wisecracks keep landing him in hot water—from a showdown with a ranch hand to an unexpected encounter with a Native American chief. With school closed and patriotic fever running high, the two teens set out equipped (mostly) for adventure, though Jackson's mind keeps wandering to more pressing matters like finding a malt in the middle of nowhere.
When Jackson tries to dodge an invitation to Portia Karloff's kissing-games party, his friend Natch sets him up with a scheme to impress some prettier girls at the ice cream parlor—but his conniving backfires in hilarious fashion at the actual party. As the spin-the-bottle game keeps mysteriously landing on Jackson and Portia over and over, Jackson has no idea what his so-called pal has really rigged up. It's a delightful lesson in what happens when you underestimate both a girl's persistence and your best friend's mischief.
Zoot’s latest attempt to dodge chores backfires when he tries to impress Angelpuss with a soda run—only to realize he left his wallet behind. With Jitterbuck watching, he’s stuck scrubbing dishes to cover the cost, much to Cookie’s quiet amusement.
