The Jughead Jones Comics Digest #30

The cover of this 1984 digest says it all: Jughead, paintbrush in hand and wearing his trademark cap, has volunteered to paint the school mural — and naturally, his masterpiece is an enormous, gloriously detailed burger, hot dog, fries, and milkshake. Two bemused onlookers watch from the side, one noting with relief that he's finally interested in "something besides food," blissfully unaware of what he's actually painted. Dan DeCarlo's clean, expressive linework gives the gag perfect comic timing, making this a thoroughly charming entry in the Archie Digest Library series.
