The Irredeemable Ant-Man #4
In "The Daily Grind," Eric O'Grady—back at SHIELD and trying to reclaim normalcy—struggles with the lingering weight of his Ant-Man identity, even as he discovers he can now communicate with ants. Meanwhile, Mitch, armed with a flawed prototype suit from Hank Pym, tracks Eric to a woman’s apartment, where tensions erupt as Ant-Man faces off against his former partner. Written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Phil Hester, with cover art by Hester and Ande Parks, this 2007 issue captures the uneasy tension between duty, identity, and the cost of power.

In the past, Eric returns to work for SHIELD and acts like life is back to normal. He continues to try out the Ant-Man uniform in his off time and discovers he can talk to the ants. Hank Pym gives Mitch an older, weaker prototype of the new Ant-Man armor to help him track down whoever stole the upgraded suit. Eric finally gets Veronica into bed. Mitch finds Ant-Man feeding his new ant buddies and prepares to attack. In the present, Mitch and his SHIELD team have Ant-Man cornered in a woman's apartment and Eric has little choice but to revert to full-size and prepare for conflict.
